The Dementia Guide

The Dementia Guide, a friend to support people living with dementia and carers.

"My family and I wish we had this guide available to us when my husband, Bill, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease."

You are not alone.

The Dementia Guide will be an important resource for anyone who has recently been diagnosed with dementia or has been impacted by the disease. This could be any type of dementia, such as Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia, or mixed dementia, and it will address issues for people of all ages living with the disease.

The Guide will also be used by the family and friends of someone with dementia, as it will contain information for anyone taking on a caring role. It will help people to understand more about dementia and the emotional impact of a diagnosis, the available drug treatments, and support and services that are available. It will include information about living well with dementia and about making plans for the future.

The development of The Dementia Guide is jointly funded by the Commonwealth and Victorian Governments.
