September is Dementia Awareness Month when we aim to give Australians a better understanding of what it is like for a person to live with dementia. It also highlights the importance of accessing services and information early to empower and enable everybody impacted by dementia, including carers.
Alzheimer’s Australia Vic is presenting a number of events and activities across Victoria, and we invite you to get involved.
During September, Alzheimer’s Australia Vic will host a range of events across the state that will connect, involve and educate the wider public. Highlights include a public lecture Forget Memory Loss - what about the person? by international guest speaker Dr Steven Sabat, Professor Emeritus of Pyschology at Georgetown University USA, on Thursday, 14 September at Zinc, Federation Square in Melbourne. We will also be hosting a Thinko! Trivia Night at the Eureka Hotel on 21 September, along with many more events which can be found in our Dementia Awareness Month calendar!
