IS IT DEMENTIA OR OLD AGE?

This free seminar is suitable for community members and health care professionals. It will be held on Friday 16 June 2017 between 2pm and 3.30pm at the Realm Library in Ringwood.

Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia are not a part of normal ageing. Almost 40 per cent of people over the age of 65 experience some form of memory loss. Brain disease like Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia are different. Age-associated memory impairment and dementia can be told apart in a number of ways.

In this seminar you will learn:

  • What are the early signs of dementia?
  • How does dementia start?
  • What is normal and what is a sign of dementia?
  • The importance of getting a diagnosis.

A HIGH TEA TO REMEMBER

After last year's successful events, we are delighted to host two* intimate High Tea events on Saturday the 4 March.

Meet the legendary media editor, business woman, TV personality and best-selling author as you indulge in exquisite pastries, traditional scones and ribbon sandwiches presented on three-tiered stands in the splendid, heritage-listed Grand Ballroom.

In Melbourne for only one day, Ita will host two High Tea's to Remember, where she will share stories about her incredible experiences and mingle with all guests to create a truly memorable experience. All profits from the events and auction of the amazing tea pot cosies and tea sets will support research and delivery of services for people living with dementia.

MEMORY WALK & JOG 2017 - MELBOURNE

We’re back! Alzheimer’s Australia Vic is thrilled to be returning to Melbourne for the second annual Memory Walk & Jog. This year we’re heading to Westerfolds Park, Templestowe on Sunday 23rd April 2017.

Dementia is the condition that will have the greatest social and economic impact on our time. With an estimated 97,000 Victorians living with dementia, our services have never been in higher demand.

Register for the 5km walk, 5km run or 10km run and help us, help those impacted by dementia by joining us for the race against dementia.

The first 500 people to register will receive a FREE Memory Walk & Jog T-shirt!

All funds raised increase Alzheimer’s Australia Vic’s ability to provide vital support services, such as counseling, support groups, education to help family carers, and professional training across the state. These services reduce feelings of isolation and empower people living with dementia and those caring for them.
